The Little Tallapoosa Park will be a Carroll County park that will have areas for many types of activities, when it is completed. Carroll County contacted the West Ga Chapter of GNPS to identify and try to save plants that would be destroyed by the construction of trails for walking and horses that will be developed in the park. We were asked to move plants from the trail off to the sides, so that the beauty and diversity of the area can be preserved. We were also asked to move plants found in areas to be developed into parking or buildings to suitable locations on the property.
A group, consisting of Chapter members and a Carroll County representative, did some preliminary scouting on August 30, 2010.
