Brian Ward is working very hard on his Eagle Scout badge and will cut the 4x4, put the signs on them and place them in concrete, for the Buffalo Creek Trail. He needs to get this done by February. We feel there should also be a sign dedicated to him for all his hard work. Carol suggested placing an article in the newspaper about Brian's work. This would let the public know that the would be interesting to come and see. A presentation for Brian with an open house or walk thru would be nice.

There are two bridges on the trail which need replacing. It is estimated that they would run $400-$500 a piece. Wendell will ask the MG for financial help with this so that it can be done by Ag Heritage Days. The shop class boys could build them.

Marc has been communicating with the sign company. It is ready to go as soon as the design details are compete. Will do some final communicating with the designer.

Gina has been working on the fall workshop. She has a doctoral student from UGA lined up to speak on native pollinators. Has asked several others but their schedules are full. We might get Gail Woody to speak. We might get a bee keeper. Carol will try to contact one. Showing an open hive and products made from bees would be interesting. Carol will do an article on the workshop for the newspaper. All info needs to be in by October 3. She will also put it in the newspaper day book. Everyone needs to donate 2 plants for the fund raiser. Carol will do registration. We all need to be here by 8:00 to set up. We need hand outs and plant books for donation. Bring seeds for seed swap; put in envelope and label. Carol suggested granola bars for refreshments.

Gina announced that the fall calendars are in. The theme is ferns. They will sell for $15. Everyone thought they were beautiful.

Flo will ask Ian to put an ad for the workshop on the rotating sign.

Mike will be at Ag Heritage Days. Gina will have some coloring book hand outs for the teachers.

Someone has devastated our plantings on Buffalo Creek. They have been mowed and weed wacked. Flo can't find out who is doing this. Wendell will talk to the young man who over sees the prisoners.

Our work day has been changed to Friday September 23. Working on labeling things planted. Frank Bennett will put work days on Wiki.

Sweetwater Creek would like help with their work day. We need to find out what type of help they need.

Flo will ask Ian about getting on the local radio station to get info out to public.

Flo asked us to be thinking about suggestions to new board for topics of interest. Marc suggested ferns and moss.

There is a festival at MacIntosh this weekend.

We are not getting any new requests for rescue sites. Flo would like to make contact with zoning departments in other counties. Cobb County requires developers to contact GNPS before developing. Gail Woody works for Douglas County, Wendell will contact her.

Fran will not be able to continue as treasure next year due to work constraints. Joyce will not continue as secretary due to competing obligations.

Meeting adjourned at 8:00PM.
